Indian Boarding Home Class Action
The Indian Boarding Home Class Action Settlement provides compensation to First Nations and Inuit people who were placed in these homes between 1951 and 1992. Those placed after 1992 may also be eligible if Canada was responsible for your placement. People can call the following toll free number if they have any questions: 1 888 499 1144.
The claims process is not yet open. Once the Opt-out period is complete, the courts will indicate when the claims process will open. That's expected to be on August 21st.
