Douglas Legarde Memorial Minor’s Trust

In 2006, our First Nation reached an agreement with Ontario Power Generation Inc. to reconcile our past grievances.  As a result of this settlement the First Nation set aside funds to be given to our minor children on January 31st of year, the year after they have reached their 18th birthday. The trust is named for Douglas Legarde who was instrumental in helping the First Nation achieve this historic agreement but was unable to live to see the benefits of it reach our First Nation. The trust is responsible to administer funds for our minor children and we are very proud of setting aside these funds for their future use and benefit.
